Practice Description
Hal represents clients in the energy sector in a variety of matters relating to oil and gas exploration, production, distribution, and marketing. His transactional practice focuses primarily on title examination and due diligence efforts for acquisitions and divestures.
Prior to joining the firm, Hal worked as a title attorney at a Dallas law firm representing mortgage servicers and lenders in foreclosure actions. Prior to this experience, Hal worked as a title attorney at a Houston investment management firm where he examined and cured title and negotiated leases in conjunction with the exploration and development of oil, gas and mineral properties. He also worked at a law firm where he rendered oil and gas title opinions.
Hal started his oil and gas career as an independent petroleum landman and holds an RPL designation through the American Association of Professional Landmen. Before practicing as a title attorney, Housley served as a military lawyer and officer in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps.
