Prior to joining the firm, Phil maintained a similar practice in the energy sector, as well as advising and representing major real estate developers in transactions that would permit development of surface interests while still accommodating access for mineral exploration and production.
He has examined land title in over 85 counties in Texas and rendered almost one thousand title opinions of all types, including one covering over 240,000 acres in three counties in a single acquisition. He has frequently advised clients on contractual as well as regulatory issues on exploration and division order matters and performed and trained and led client personnel and contractors in due diligence matters relating to the acquisition and divestiture of large property interests.
